The SRecorder program lets you quickly and easily record the live activity from any area of the screen to an MP4 video.
The recording of the desktop can also include the sound played on the computer at that moment, if needed. Other than that, very few additional options and features are available. You see, SRecorder is extremely simple and straightforward. You can only choose a desktop area to capture and choose exporting options for the recording: from saving it to an MP4 file (other video file formats are not supported) to uploading it to an online server and publishing its link to social networks like Facebook, Google + or Twitter.
Unfortunately, during my testing, the uploading didn’t seem to work properly: though the program generated a link for the page containing the uploaded video, I wasn’t able to play the uploaded video from that location. Anyway, maybe it was just a temporary issue. Saving the video locally to an MP4 video file worked perfectly fine.
SRecorder also comes with a “history” feature that shows the previously recorded videos. This option can be accessed using the program’s tray menu.
In conclusion, SRecorder is probably the simplest screen recording tool one can find. Its utter simplicity combined with the fact that it’s free will surely make this tool an attractive solution for many users.
